Years 11 & 12 SACE Biology

Biology students are assisted through clear explanations of biological concepts, which are often accompanied by the presentation of PowerPoint notes, practice worksheets and past tests/examinations. For those students undertaking tasks, such as School Assessed Tests (SATs) Science Inquiry Skills (SIS) experimental practical reports (SIS) or Science as a Human Endeavour (SHE) assignments, I provide access to approved past students’ exemplars and the latest advice provided by examination markers/moderators via the Science Teacher’s Association of South Australia (SASTA) teacher workshops on how to achieve the best results in summative assessment tasks.

My role is to support students in how best to address the assessment criteria of assessment tasks. In this way, the students benefit from receiving the latest advice on how to present their best effort, whilst ensuring that they undertake their own original work. In Year 12 SACE Biology explicit teaching that addresses the theoretical concepts in the four topics: 1. DNA and Proteins, 2. Cells as the basis for life, 3. Homeostasis and 4. Evolution is implemented. Students are also guided with examination preparation and how to present practical reports based upon the collection of data in laboratory sessions at school.
